I downloaded shipping labels from my store dashboard one file per order. How do I print them all in one go?

Merge all the label files in [[merge-pdf]] into one PDF, then send that to the printer as a single job instead of opening fifteen files and printing each one. Every label keeps its original size and orientation, and the scaling that suits your label stock is chosen in the print dialog.

Why one print job saves you time

On a fifteen-order day, printing each label from its own file means opening the file, opening the print dialog and checking the settings, fifteen times over. With that much repetition it is easy to miss a label or print one twice. A merged file means you set things up once, and you see the page count before printing so you can match it to your orders.

The routine at the end of an order day

  1. Download the day's labels from your store dashboard into one folder for that day.
  2. Open Merge PDFs and select every file in the folder. The list takes up to 20 files at a time.
  3. Match the summary line against the day's order count before pressing 'Merge and download'.
  4. Open the merged file and print it once.
Worked example

15 orders, each label a one-page file.

The summary shows 15 files and 15 pages, so you know before printing that no label is missing.

Sizes and scaling: who controls what

The tool never changes a page's size. If your labels are small label-sized pages, they stay that way in the merged file, even if you merge A4 invoices in with them. That protects the label from being stretched or squeezed, and the barcode from being distorted.

How the pages come out on paper is decided by the print dialog. Actual size prints each page at its true dimensions; fit scales a page up or down to the paper. Test a single page on your label stock before printing the whole batch.

  • If one label shows landscape and your printer feeds portrait, rotate that page in Rotate PDF pages before printing.
  • If you want each order's invoice after its label, add the files alternately: label, invoice, label, and every page keeps its own size.
  • More than 20 orders? Merge in two rounds and then merge the results, or print two files.

Common questions

Is the tool connected to my store or does it fetch labels itself?

No. It works on files you have downloaded to your device, whatever platform they came from.

Can I fit four labels onto one A4 sheet?

The merge tool does not put several pages on one sheet. Some print dialogs have a pages-per-sheet option; use it if your printer supports it.

Is customer data on the labels uploaded to the site?

No. The merge runs in your browser and the labels stay on your device.
