How to use it
- Enter floor area, cleaning rate per cleaner, number of cleaners, extra tasks (minutes) and hourly rate per cleaner (optional).
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Labor hours = area ÷ cleaning rate + extra tasks in minutes ÷ 60. Elapsed time = labor hours ÷ cleaners. Cost = labor hours × hourly rate.
Example
Inputs: Floor area = 120 m², Cleaning rate per cleaner = 40 m²/h, Number of cleaners = 2, Extra tasks (minutes) = 30. Result: Elapsed time: 1.75 h; Elapsed time in hours and minutes: 1 h 45 min; Total labor hours: 3.5 h.
Limits and caveats
- The cleaning rate drives the result and varies widely between routine and deep cleaning, so enter one that fits your case.
- Assumes cleaners share the work evenly without delays.
Questions about this tool
Which cleaning rate should I use?
The default 40 m² per hour is only an example. Time yourself cleaning a room of known size for the most accurate rate for your home.
What goes under extra tasks?
Jobs that do not scale with area, such as cleaning the oven, the fridge or deep cleaning bathrooms.
Do more cleaners always cut the time?
In the formula yes, but in small spaces people get in each other's way, so time may not drop in proportion.
