Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter length, width, height and length unit.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Volume = l × w × h, surface area = 2(lw + lh + wh), diagonal = √(l² + w² + h²).
Example
Inputs: Length = 50, Width = 30, Height = 20, Length unit = Centimeter (cm). Result: Volume: 30,000 cm³; Total surface area: 6,200 cm²; Lateral surface area: 3,200 cm².
Limits and caveats
- Assumes rectangular faces and right angles; use inside dimensions for the real capacity of a box.
- Results are in the cube or square of the unit you chose, so enter every dimension in that same unit.
Questions about this tool
What is the formula for cuboid volume?
Volume equals length × width × height. A 50 × 30 × 20 cm box holds 30000 cm³, which is 30 liters.
What is lateral versus total surface area?
Lateral area covers only the four side faces. Total area adds the top and bottom.
Can I use it for a room?
Yes. Enter the room length, width and height in meters to get the volume in cubic meters.
