How it is calculated

Share = amount × (its part ÷ sum of all parts)

Inputs: Amount or quantity = 1,000, Part 1 = 2, Part 2 = 3. Result: Share 1: 400; Share 2: 600.

  • It does not apply inheritance law; it is a plain arithmetic split.

Questions about this tool

How do I split 1000 in the ratio 2:3?

The parts add up to 5, so the first share is 1000 × 2 ÷ 5 = 400 and the second is 600.

Can the parts be decimals like 1.5:2.5?

Yes. Only the proportion between the parts matters, not whether they are whole numbers.

How do I split profit by each partner’s capital?

Enter each partner’s capital as their part, and you get each partner’s share of the profit.
