How to use it

- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Add: GST = amount × rate ÷ 100. Remove: amount before GST = total ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100). Intra-state: CGST = SGST = GST ÷ 2. Inter-state: IGST = GST.
Example
Inputs: Amount = 1,000 INR, Calculation = Add GST to the amount, GST rate = 18 %, Supply type = Within the same state (CGST + SGST). Result: Total including GST: 1,180.00 INR; Amount before GST: 1,000.00 INR; Total GST: 180.00 INR.
Limits and caveats
- The default 18% is the standard slab set by the GST Council and CBIC after the 22 September 2025 change that made 5% and 18% the main slabs, with 40% for selected goods.
- Check your item's rate in the CBIC schedules. Cess and other levies are not included.
Questions about this tool
What are the current GST slabs in India?
Since 22 September 2025 the main slabs are 5% and 18%, with 40% for selected goods and a few special rates such as 3% on gold.
What is the difference between CGST, SGST and IGST?
On a sale within one state the tax splits equally into CGST for the centre and SGST for the state. On a sale between states the whole tax is IGST.
How do I remove 18% GST from an inclusive price?
Divide the inclusive price by 1.18 to get the price before GST. The GST is the inclusive price × 18 ÷ 118.
