How it is calculated
The number is split into 4-digit groups (兆 = 10^12, 億 = 10^8, 万 = 10^4), each written with 千, 百 and 十. 一 is dropped before 十 and 百, and before 千 in the units group, and zeros are skipped: 2026 = 二千二十六.
Example
Inputs: Number = 12,345,678, Style = Standard kanji (二千二十六). Result: In kanji: 一千二百三十四万五千六百七十八.
Limits and caveats
- 10,000,000 is written 一千万 here; some write 千万 without 一, and both are correct.
- Daiji replaces only 一, 二, 三 and 十 (壱 弐 参 拾), as in modern legal use, and keeps 万 as is.
