How to use it
- Enter number of broken oaths and cost of feeding one poor person.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Poor people = 10 × oaths. Cost = poor people × cost of feeding one. Fasting days if unable = 3 × oaths.
Example
Inputs: Number of broken oaths = 1, Cost of feeding one poor person = 15. Result: Expiation cost: 150.00; Poor people to feed: 10; Fasting days if unable: 3.
Limits and caveats
- Counts a separate expiation per oath; repeated oaths on one matter before expiating may need only one, as many scholars hold.
- The food per person differs by school (a mudd or half a sa), so enter the cost your local ruling uses.
