Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter pace minutes, pace seconds and pace per.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Speed (km/h) = 60 ÷ pace in minutes per km. For a per-mile pace: speed (mph) = 60 ÷ pace, and 1 mile = 1.609344 km.
Example
Inputs: Pace minutes = 5, Pace seconds = 30, Pace per = Kilometer. Result: Speed: 10.91 km/h; Speed in miles: 6.78 mph; Speed in meters per second: 3.03 m/s.
Limits and caveats
- Treadmill calibration can differ slightly from true speed.
- The pace shown in the other unit is rounded to the nearest second.
Questions about this tool
What speed is a 5:00 per km pace?
It is 12 km/h, about 7.46 mph.
How do I set a treadmill to a pace?
Convert your pace to speed here, then enter the number in the unit your treadmill shows, km/h or mph.
Why does speed drop when pace goes up?
Pace is time per kilometer, so more time per kilometer means fewer kilometers covered each hour.
