How to use it

  1. Enter speed and speed unit.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Pace (min/km) = 60 ÷ speed in km/h. Pace per mile = pace per km × 1.609344. Race time = distance ÷ speed.

Example

Inputs: Speed = 10, Speed unit = km/h. Result: Pace per kilometer: 6:00 min/km; Pace per mile: 9:39 min/mile; 5K time: 30:00.

Limits and caveats

  • Race times assume a constant speed for the whole distance.
  • Times are rounded to the nearest second.

Questions about this tool

What pace is 10 km/h?

It is 6:00 per kilometer, so a 10K takes exactly one hour.

Are the marathon times a real prediction?

They are the time for that distance at the same speed without stopping. To predict from a past race, use the race time predictor.

Which speed unit do treadmills use?

Most show km/h and some show mph. You can pick either here.
