Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter names (one per line), split by, number and draw number.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Names are shuffled uniformly, then dealt in turn into T teams. With m people per team, T = ceil(n / m). Sizes: n mod T teams get ceil(n / T) and the rest get floor(n / T).
Example
Inputs: Split by = Number of teams, Number = 2, Draw number = 1. Result: Teams: ; Number of teams: 2; Team sizes: 4, 4.
Limits and caveats
- The split is random and does not balance skill or age.
- A repeated name is treated as two different people.
Questions about this tool

Number of teams or people per team?
With the first you set how many teams you want. With the second you set the team size and the tool works out how many teams are needed.
How do I reshuffle?
Change the draw number and the tool shuffles the names again.
