Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter total rent, housemates: name and room area in m² on each line and share split evenly (common areas).
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Even part = rent × rate ÷ 100 ÷ housemates. Area part = rent × (1 - rate ÷ 100) × room area ÷ total area. Share = both parts added.

Example

Inputs: Total rent = 3,000, Share split evenly (common areas) = 0 %. Result: Each housemate pays: Ali: 1,200.00; Sara: 1,050.00; Omar: 750.00; Rent per m² of private room: 75.00; Even part per housemate: 0.00.

Limits and caveats

  • It uses area only; a private bathroom or balcony needs agreement and may change the split.
  • Enter every area in the same unit.

Questions about this tool

What even share should we use?

It stands for the living room, kitchen and shared bathrooms. Agree on it together; the larger the shared space, the higher the share.

Can I use square feet?

Yes, the calculation is proportional; just use the same unit for everyone.

How do I measure a room?

Multiply length by width in meters. A 4 × 3.5 m room is 14 square meters.
