How to use it
- Enter current monthly salary, raise type and raise value.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
By percent: new = current × (1 + rate ÷ 100). By amount: new = current + amount. Raise % = (new − current) ÷ current × 100, and the yearly difference = monthly difference × 12.
Example
Inputs: Current monthly salary = 12,000, Raise type = Fixed amount, Raise value = 1,500. Result: New salary: 13,500.00; Monthly raise: 1,500.00; Raise percentage: 12.5%.
Limits and caveats
- It works on gross pay; net pay can change by a different percentage if tax or insurance changes.
- It does not adjust the raise for inflation.
Questions about this tool
How do I get the raise percent from two salaries?
Choose fixed amount and enter the difference to see the percent, or divide the difference by the old salary and multiply by 100.
Are two 5% raises the same as 10%?
No, they give 10.25%, because the second raise applies to the already raised salary.
Are allowances included?
Enter whichever pay the raise applies to, basic or total.
