How it is calculated
Actual hourly wage = total pay ÷ 30 ÷ daily hours. Basic hourly wage = basic ÷ 30 ÷ daily hours. Overtime hour = actual + 50% of basic. Pay = overtime hour × hours.
Example
Inputs: Basic salary = 7,000 SAR, Total pay (basic plus allowances) = 10,000 SAR, Daily working hours = 8 hours, Overtime hours = 20 hours. Result: Overtime pay: 1,125.00 SAR; Pay per overtime hour: 56.25 SAR; Actual hourly wage: 41.67 SAR.
Limits and caveats
- Dividing by 30 days and 8 hours is the common method; a contract may set another.
- In Ramadan, Muslim workers work 6 hours a day, so adjust the field.
