How to use it

  1. Enter days until the exam, chapters or units, hours per chapter, review days at the end and start date.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Study days = days left − review days. Hours per day = chapters × hours per chapter ÷ study days.

Example

Inputs: Days until the exam = 10 days, Chapters or units = 12, Hours per chapter = 1.5 hours, Review days at the end = 2 days, Start date = 2026-10-01. Result: Study hours per day: 2.25 h; Chapters per day: 1.5; Study days: 8.

Limits and caveats

  • It assumes chapters are equal in length and difficulty; adjust hours per chapter to suit the subject.
  • It does not skip busy days or days off, so subtract them from the days left.

Questions about this tool

How many review days should I keep?

Many students keep one or two days for review and past papers, and you can set any number.

What does "consolidate and practise" mean in the plan?

It appears when there are more days than chapters, leaving a day with no new chapter for practice.

Does it work for several subjects?

Yes. Add up all the chapters, or plan each subject on its own and add the daily hours.
