How to use it
- Enter distance, walking speed and stride length.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Time = distance ÷ walking speed. Steps = distance in cm ÷ stride = km × 100000 ÷ stride length in cm.
Example
Inputs: Distance = 5 km, Walking speed = 5 km/h, Stride length = 75 cm. Result: Walking time: 1:00 h:mm; In minutes: 60 min; Approximate steps: 6,667.
Limits and caveats
- 5 km/h is a common adult average on flat ground; hills, crowds and heat slow you down.
- The step count is an estimate that depends on your real stride length.
