Does the receipt tool keep the customer names and amounts I enter?
No. The receipt is built inside your browser, so the customer's name, phone and the amount are never uploaded to a server, and nothing remains once you close the page. That protects your customers' details, but it also means the PDF you download is your only copy.
What happens to your data, exactly
When you fill in the fields and press 'Create PDF', the amount is worked out and the file drawn entirely on your device, by code running inside the page. There is no account to sign into, no database of your receipts, no backup on the site. Close the tab and everything you typed is gone.
For your customers, that means their mobile, email, address and what they paid do not end up somewhere they never agreed to. For you, it means you are not trusting a third party to keep your business figures private.
The flip side: no history, no recovery
- There is no list of past receipts. If a file goes missing, the tool cannot find it.
- Your business details are not remembered, so you type them each time, or keep the page open and change only the customer and amount between receipts.
- Close the page before downloading and what you typed is lost.
- Your last receipt number is not remembered either; the sequence lives in your own log.
A saving routine that suits a tool like this
- After creating the receipt in the Receipt generator, download it straight away, before sending it to anyone.
- Save it in a receipts folder organised by year. The file name already carries the receipt number.
- Log the number, date, amount and customer in your sheet.
- Back that folder up somewhere you trust, because the tool is not your backup.
Once you send the file, the picture changes
The privacy inside the tool ends at the download. Send the receipt by WhatsApp or email and it now sits on the customer's phone, in your chat, and perhaps on other devices. So put only what is needed on it: a name and one contact detail usually do, and an ID number or full home address is unnecessary unless the customer asks. For a card payment, four digits are plenty.
The same holds for the Basic invoice generator and the site's other document tools: they all run in the browser and store nothing.
Common questions
Can I use it on a shared shop computer?
Yes, but download and close the tab after each receipt, and remember downloaded files stay in that computer's Downloads folder until you move or delete them.
Is anything loaded from the site while the file is built?
The font file needed to draw Arabic and Latin text is loaded. Your data does not leave your device.
