Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter decimal or hex number.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

a = floor(n / 16777216), b = floor(n / 65536) mod 256, c = floor(n / 256) mod 256, d = n mod 256.

Example

Inputs: Decimal or hex number = 3232235786. Result: IPv4 address: 192.168.1.10.

3232235786
192.168.1.10

Limits and caveats

  • Assumes network byte order (big-endian). If a system stored the number little-endian, the octets come out reversed.

Questions about this tool

What is the largest number I can convert?

4294967295, which is 255.255.255.255, since IPv4 addresses are 32 bits.

Can the number contain commas?

Yes. Commas and spaces are removed before converting.

Why does the address look reversed?

The number was probably stored little-endian; read the octets in reverse order.
