Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter number.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
From n = p1^e1 × p2^e2, every divisor is p1^a × p2^b with 0 ≤ a ≤ e1. Sum of divisors σ(n) = product of (p^(e+1) - 1) ÷ (p - 1).
Example
Inputs: Number = 36. Result: Divisors: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36; Number of divisors: 9; Sum of divisors: 91.
Limits and caveats
- Accepts whole numbers from 1 to 10^12.
- Only positive divisors are listed; each has a negative twin.
Questions about this tool
Are divisors and factors the same thing?
Here they mean the same: a number that divides the original with no remainder.
What are proper divisors?
All divisors except the number itself. For 12 they are 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6, which add up to 16.
Why does 36 have an odd number of divisors?
Because 36 is a perfect square. Divisors come in pairs like 4 and 9, except the square root 6, which pairs with itself.
