Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter emails sent, bounced emails, unique opens, unique clicks and unsubscribes.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Delivered = sent − bounced. Open rate = unique opens ÷ delivered × 100. Click rate = unique clicks ÷ delivered × 100. CTOR = clicks ÷ opens × 100. Bounce rate = bounced ÷ sent × 100. Unsubscribe rate = unsubscribes ÷ delivered × 100.
Example
Inputs: Emails sent = 10,000, Bounced emails = 200, Unique opens = 2,450, Unique clicks = 294, Unsubscribes = 49. Result: Open rate: 25%; Click rate: 3%; Click-to-open rate (CTOR): 12%.
Limits and caveats
- Apple Mail Privacy Protection preloads emails and records opens that never happened, so open rates can run high.
- Some platforms divide by sent instead of delivered, which gives slightly lower rates.
Questions about this tool
Why divide by delivered, not sent?
Bounced emails never reached an inbox, so they could not be opened or clicked and should not count.
How accurate is open rate?
Less than it used to be, because privacy features open emails automatically. Click rate is more reliable for comparing campaigns.
How is click rate different from CTOR?
Click rate divides clicks by all delivered emails. CTOR divides by openers only, so it measures how well the email content itself works.
