How it is calculated
Simplified = (numerator ÷ GCD) / (denominator ÷ GCD), where GCD is the greatest common divisor
Example
Inputs: Numerator = 18, Denominator = 24. Result: Fraction in lowest terms: 3/4; Greatest common divisor: 6; Decimal: 0.75.

Questions about this tool
How do I simplify 18/24?
The greatest common divisor is 6. Divide both by 6 to get 3/4.
When is a fraction in lowest terms?
When the greatest common divisor of the numerator and denominator is 1, as in 7/13.
