How to use it

  1. Enter amount, measure and density.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Grams = volume in mL × 1.006 g/mL. The density comes from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy, "Cream, fluid, heavy whipping"): one US cup (236.59 mL) of heavy whipping cream weighs 238 g. 1 oz = 28.3495 g.

Example

Inputs: Amount = 1, Measure = US cup (236.6 mL), Density = 1.006 g/mL. Result: Weight in grams: 238 g; Weight in ounces: 8.4 oz; Volume in millilitres: 236.6 mL.

Limits and caveats

  • Results are for liquid cream; a cup of whipped cream weighs only about 120 g.
  • Edit the density for lighter cooking cream.
