How to use it
- Enter amount, measure and density.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Grams = volume in mL × 1.0313 g/mL. The density comes from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy, "Milk, whole, 3.25% milkfat"): one US cup (236.59 mL) of whole milk weighs 244 g. 1 oz = 28.3495 g.
Example
Inputs: Amount = 1, Measure = US cup (236.6 mL), Density = 1.0313 g/mL. Result: Weight in grams: 244 g; Weight in ounces: 8.61 oz; Volume in millilitres: 236.6 mL.
Limits and caveats
- The density is for whole milk; skimmed milk is heavier by less than 1%.
- You can edit the density.
