How to use it
- Enter last monthly wage (basic plus fixed allowances), years of service, extra months, extra days and why the job ended.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Full award = wage × (half a month for each of the first 5 years + one month for each later year), with part years pro rata. On resignation: nothing under 2 years, one third from 2 to 5 years, two thirds above 5 and under 10, the full award from 10 years.
Example
Inputs: Last monthly wage (basic plus fixed allowances) = 12,000 SAR, Years of service = 8 years, Extra months = 6 months, Extra days = 0 days, Why the job ended = Employee resigned (art. 85). Result: Award due: 48,000.00 SAR; Full award before reduction: 72,000.00 SAR; Share of the award: 66.67%.
Limits and caveats
- No award is due on dismissal under one of the article 80 cases.
- Part years use days ÷ 365, so rounding can differ slightly from the employer's figure.
Questions about this tool
Is the award based on basic salary only?
No. The law uses the last actual wage, which is basic pay plus fixed allowances such as housing and transport, unless the contract gives more.
What do I get if I resign after 4 years?
One third of the full award, because your service is between two and five years.
Does a female worker keep the full award after marriage?
Yes, if she leaves within 6 months of the marriage contract or 3 months of giving birth, under article 87.
How is the end of service award calculated in Saudi Arabia?
It is half a month's wage for each of the first 5 years and a full month's wage for each later year. Example: a wage of 10,000 riyals and 7 years of service at contract end gives 25,000 + 20,000 = 45,000 riyals. The calculator applies the resignation share automatically.
