How it is calculated
Grams = volume in mL × 0.9722 g/mL. The density comes from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy, "Cream, sour, cultured"): one US cup (236.59 mL) of sour cream weighs 230 g. 1 oz = 28.3495 g.
Example
Inputs: Amount = 1, Measure = US cup (236.6 mL), Density = 0.9722 g/mL. Result: Weight in grams: 230 g; Weight in ounces: 8.11 oz; Volume in millilitres: 236.6 mL.
Limits and caveats
- Measured packed into the cup without air gaps.
- Light versions can differ slightly; the density can be edited.
