- I pasted a whole book into the counter and the page froze for a few seconds; is that normal?Yes with very large texts. Most of the pause is the browser's text box drawing the paste; counting runs in short slices. What was tested, and how to count a book.
- The counter says my word count is approximate in this browser; what does that mean and can I trust it?Your browser lacks Intl.Segmenter, so characters, words and sentences use a simplified rule. Which numbers stay exact, where it slips, and what to do.
- Can I just count the spaces and add one to get the number of words in Arabic text?Spaces plus one breaks on double spaces, a comma set off by spaces, line breaks and emoji. Four worked examples compare the manual shortcut with the word counter.
- My supplier sent a new price list; how do I quickly see which items changed price?Paste the old and new price lists one item per line: items with a new price appear as modified pairs with the number highlighted, unchanged items stay out of the way.
- The comparison says a line changed but I can't see any difference; why?Usually a trailing space, a double space or an invisible character. How to find it, when 'ignore whitespace' is enough, and when you need to clean the text first.
- I compared two customer phone lists and numbers that are in both show up as removed and added; why?The comparison follows line order, so a number that moved looks removed in one place and added in another. Sort both lists the same way first and only new numbers remain.
- I copied the comparison result and it has lines starting with @@, + and -; how do I read it?The plain-text result of a line comparison is a unified diff. What the minus, plus and space prefixes mean and how to read the @@ line, with a price-list example.
- My new product feed has the English names in capitals; can I compare it without capitalization counting as a change? The ignore-case option makes ARABIC COFFEE and Arabic Coffee one line, so only real edits remain. Plus why the option does nothing for Arabic text.
- Is it safe to paste two versions of a confidential client contract into an online comparison tool? Our comparison runs inside your browser: neither text is uploaded or stored, and the downloaded result is created on your device. Here is what is still up to you.
- A customer's IBAN differs by one digit from the one I have on file; how do I find the digit that differs?Compare the two numbers by characters and only the digit that differs is marked, not the whole line. What to do first when one IBAN has spaces or Arabic digits.
- The comparison stopped with a message instead of a result when I compared two big files; what should I do?The comparison stops after 2.5 seconds when two large texts differ a lot, so the page never freezes. The fix is usually line comparison instead of words or characters.
- Two product descriptions look identical to me; is checking by eye enough or should I use a tool?Your eye misses a trailing period or an l in place of a 1. The comparison says identical only when every character matches, and otherwise points to the word that differs.
- Why do some edited lines show as one removed line and one added line instead of a single modification? Two lines count as one modification only when they share at least half of their words. A fully rewritten line shows as a removal and an addition. Worked examples.
- My customer phone list has the same number in Arabic digits and in Western digits; why aren't the duplicates removed?Matching is literal, so ٠٥٥ in Arabic-Indic digits is not 055 to the tool. Convert every number to one digit style first, then remove duplicates. Worked example.
- My mailing list has the same address written with different capital letters; which setting removes those duplicates?Turn off case-sensitive matching and Ahmed@Gmail.com and ahmed@gmail.com count as one line, with the first spelling kept. When to lowercase the whole list instead.
- I copied SKU codes from Excel and there are obvious repeats, but the tool doesn't remove them; what's the cause?Excel cells can carry a space before or after a code, so SKU-1002 with a trailing space is a different line. Ignore spaces at both ends, or clean them away.
- I collected my WhatsApp orders into a list; how can I see which product was ordered most often?Paste one product per line and the duplicate remover lists every repeated line with its count, most repeated first. A quick tally without a spreadsheet, if names match.
- I gathered Google Ads keywords from several tools and the list is full of blank lines; how do I remove the repeats and the gaps in one go?Choose 'Remove all empty lines' while removing repeats, and your keyword list comes out compact and ready to paste into Google Ads, in first-occurrence order.
- Are my customers' phone numbers and emails uploaded to a server when I paste them to remove duplicates? No. Our duplicate removal runs inside your browser: the list is never sent or stored, and copy and download happen on your device. Here is what is still up to you.
- Should I sort my list first so duplicates sit together before removing them, or is that unnecessary? No need. The tool finds a repeat wherever it is and keeps the first occurrence in place, so your order survives. Sort first only if you want a sorted result anyway.
- Why doesn't the tool treat a product name written with stretched letters as a repeat of the same name without them? The stretching character (tatweel) is a real character, so a stretched name is a different line. Turn on 'ignore diacritics and tatweel' to match them. Worked examples.
- I want to remove repeated sentences from a WhatsApp broadcast message but keep the blank lines between paragraphs; which setting do I pick?Set 'Empty lines' to 'Keep all empty lines' and repeated sentences go while every blank line between paragraphs stays. The default setting glues paragraphs together.
- A product name looks identical in two files but Excel won't match them in a lookup; could a hidden space be the cause?Often yes: a non-breaking space copied from a web page or Word looks like a normal space but is a different character. The special-spaces rule replaces it and counts it.
- How do I remove invisible zero-width characters from text I copied from a website?Turn on 'Remove zero-width separators' to delete ZWSP, word joiner and BOM. The rule is off by default and kept apart from ZWNJ and ZWJ for a good reason.
