Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter usable battery capacity, current charge, target charge, charger power and charging efficiency.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Time (h) = capacity × (target % − current %) ÷ 100 ÷ (charger power × charging efficiency).

Example

Inputs: Usable battery capacity = 75 kWh, Current charge = 20 %, Target charge = 80 %, Charger power = 11 kW, Charging efficiency = 90 %. Result: Charging time: 4.55 h; Time in minutes: 273 min; Rounded time: 4 h 33 min.

Limits and caveats

  • Fast charging slows sharply above about 80%, so real time to 100% is longer than shown.
  • The car may cap the power: a 22 kW wallbox gives no gain if the onboard charger is limited to 11 kW.

Questions about this tool

What power does a home charger usually have?

A single-phase wallbox is about 7.4 kW, three-phase units are 11 or 22 kW, and a regular socket is under 3 kW.

Why does a fast charger not deliver its full rating?

The battery accepts peak power only within a certain charge and temperature window, then the car lowers the power.

Should I enter the charger's power or the car's?

Use whichever is lower, because that sets the real charging speed.
