Example
Inputs: Weight = 250 g. Result: US cups: 2.21 cups; Tablespoons: 35.4 tbsp; Teaspoons: 106.2 tsp.
Limits and caveats
- The figure is for unsifted powdered sugar; sugar sifted before measuring weighs less per cup.
- The kitchen measure is rounded to the nearest 1/4 tsp, and chart figures to the gram.
- Metric cup (250 mL) and spoon values are scaled by volume from the 236.59 mL US cup figure.
Questions about this tool
How many cups is 250 g of powdered sugar?
250 g is about 2.21 US cups, or 2 cups + 3 tbsp + 1 1/4 tsp, at 113 g per cup.
Does this conversion work for caster sugar?
No. Powdered sugar is milled to a dust and usually contains a little starch, while caster sugar is fine crystals, so their cup weights differ.
Is the result in US or metric cups?
The main result is in 236.59 mL US cups, which the chart uses, and metric 250 mL cups are shown too: 250 g of powdered sugar is 2.09 metric cups.
