How it is calculated
Seconds = hours × 3600 + minutes × 60 + seconds. A two-part value is read as minutes:seconds.
Example
Inputs: Duration (H:MM:SS or M:SS) = 1:02:05. Result: Total seconds: 3,725 s; Total minutes: 62.0833 min; Decimal hours: 1.0347 h.
Limits and caveats
- A two-part value such as 12:30 means 12 minutes 30 seconds, not 12 hours.
- Fractions of a second are not accepted.

How many seconds are in an hour and a half?
1:30:00 is 5400 seconds.
How do I enter less than an hour?
Write minutes:seconds such as 4:35, or 0:04:35; both give 275 seconds.
Can hours go past 24?
Yes, 100:00:00 for example is 360000 seconds.
