Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter previous reading, current reading, days between readings and price per kwh.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Usage = current reading minus previous reading. Daily average = usage ÷ days. Monthly estimate = daily average × 30.

Example

Inputs: Previous reading = 12,500 kWh, Current reading = 13,850 kWh, Days between readings = 30, Price per kWh = 0.18 per kWh. Result: Usage: 1,350 kWh; Daily average: 45 kWh; 30 day estimate: 1,350 kWh.

Limits and caveats

  • The cost uses one flat rate with no tiers or VAT; use the electricity bill calculator for the full amount.
  • It does not handle a meter that rolled over to zero.

Questions about this tool

How do I read my electricity meter?

Take the kWh figure shown, ignoring decimals, and note the date with it.

Why does the monthly estimate differ from the bill?

Daily use changes, especially with air conditioning, and the bill covers specific reading dates.

How often should I take readings?

Weekly is enough to see the trend; daily if you want to measure one appliance.
