How it is calculated
We find the weekday of the 1st, leave blank cells for the gap between it and the chosen first day of the week, then fill the days in order, seven per row. Hijri dates follow Umm al-Qura.

Inputs: Year = 2,026, Month = October, Week starts on = Sunday, Show Hijri date (Umm al-Qura) = no. Result: Month starts on: Thursday; Days in the month: 31; Calendar rows: 5.
Limits and caveats
- Hijri dates come from the computed Umm al-Qura calendar and can differ by a day from the sighting used for Ramadan and Eid.
- Public holidays are not shown.
Questions about this tool
Can the week start on Saturday?
Yes. Pick Saturday, Sunday or Monday under week starts on and the columns rearrange.
Why does a month sometimes need 6 rows?
When a 31-day month starts in the last two columns of the week, its days spill into a sixth row.
What is the number in brackets?
The Umm al-Qura Hijri day. The Hijri month name appears on its first day and on the 1st of the Gregorian month.
