How to use it

  1. Enter thickness, width, length, quantity and price per m³ (optional).
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Volume (m³) = (thickness ÷ 1000) × (width ÷ 1000) × length × quantity. Pieces per m³ = 1 ÷ piece volume. Cost = volume × price per m³.

Example

Inputs: Thickness = 50 mm, Width = 100 mm, Length = 4 m, Quantity = 10. Result: Total volume: 0.2 m³; Volume per piece: 0.02 m³; Pieces per m³: 50.

Limits and caveats

  • Use the size your seller bills on; nominal and dressed sizes can differ.
  • Does not include waste or tax.

Questions about this tool

How many 50 × 100 mm boards 4 m long make a cubic meter?

Each board is 0.02 m³, so a cubic meter holds 50 boards.

How do I convert cm to mm?

Multiply by 10, so 5 cm thick is 50 mm.

Does it work for plywood?

Yes for volume, but plywood is usually sold per sheet or per square meter rather than per cubic meter.
