Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter hijri year.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
We read the Umm al-Qura calendar from the calendar data built into the browser (Intl) and find the Gregorian day matching the 1st of each month. Month length = start of next month - start of this month.
Example
Inputs: Hijri year = 1,448 AH. Result: Days in the Hijri year: 355; 1 Muharram falls on: Tuesday, June 16, 2026 (2026-06-16); Months with 30 days: 7.
Limits and caveats
- Umm al-Qura is a computed calendar; the start of Ramadan and the two Eids is announced by sighting and can differ by a day.
- It relies on browser support for the islamic-umalqura calendar, which modern browsers include.
Questions about this tool
How many days are in a Hijri year?
In Umm al-Qura it is 354 or 355 days, depending on how many months have 30 days.
Can two 30-day months come in a row?
Yes. The calendar follows the real moon, so three full months in a row can happen, as in 1447.
Why is the range 1356 to 1500?
That is the span the Umm al-Qura table in browser calendar data covers reliably.
