How to use it

  1. Enter lectures per week, weeks in the term, absence limit and absences so far.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Total lectures = lectures per week × weeks. Absence limit = floor(total × limit % ÷ 100). Remaining = limit − absences.

Example

Inputs: Lectures per week = 3, Weeks in the term = 15, Absence limit = 25 %, Absences so far = 5. Result: Absences you have left: 6; Maximum absences allowed: 11; Total lectures in the term: 45.

Limits and caveats

  • 25% is a common assumption; some universities deny at reaching the limit itself or count absence in hours, so set the limit to match your rules.
  • Accepted excuses that your university may exclude are not taken into account.

Questions about this tool

When is a student denied the final exam?

In many Saudi universities, when absence goes above 25% of the course lectures, meaning attendance falls below 75%.

Why does the tool round the limit down?

Absences count as whole lectures, so you cannot miss part of a lecture to stay under the limit.

Are labs or tutorials counted separately?

It depends on the university. If the lab counts on its own, run the tool again with its lecture count.
