Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter first text and second text.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Spaces, punctuation and diacritics are removed and case is ignored, then every letter is counted in both texts. They are anagrams when every count matches.
Example
Inputs: First text = listen, Second text = silent. Result: Anagram?: Yes; Extra letters in first: None; Extra letters in second: None.
Limits and caveats
- It compares letters and does not use a dictionary, so it will not suggest new words.
- أ إ آ count as alef, but ة, ه, ى and ي stay distinct letters.
Questions about this tool
Do spaces count?
No. Spaces and punctuation are removed, so Dormitory and dirty room are a valid anagram.
Does it work with Arabic words?
Yes. For example كتب and بكت share the same letters, and diacritics do not affect the result.
What do the extra letters mean?
They are the letters you would remove from that text to match the other, which helps in word games.
