How to use it
- Enter classes held, classes attended and required attendance.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Attendance = attended ÷ held × 100. Classes needed = ceiling((rate × held − 100 × attended) ÷ (100 − rate)). Classes you can miss = floor((100 × attended − rate × held) ÷ rate).
Example
Inputs: Classes held = 40, Classes attended = 28, Required attendance = 75 %. Result: Attendance: 70%; Status: Below target; Classes in a row you need to attend: 8.
Limits and caveats
- It assumes future classes are equal and that you attend all of them when working out what you need.
- Some universities count absence in hours or accept official excuses, so check the rules.
Questions about this tool
How many classes do I need to reach 75%?
The tool gives the number directly. With 28 attended out of 40, you need 8 classes in a row to reach 75%.
Why can I not set 100% as the target?
Once you have missed a class, 100% can never be reached, so the target must be below 100.
Does it count a class I plan to miss today?
No. Enter only the classes that have actually been held so far.
