How to use it
- Enter price per item, buy (items at full price), get (discounted items), discount on those items (100 = free) and number of deals.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Paid = (X × price + Y × price × (1 - Y discount%)) × deals. Effective price = paid ÷ items. Effective discount = 1 - paid ÷ (items × price).
Example
Inputs: Price per item = 30, Buy (items at full price) = 2, Get (discounted items) = 1, Discount on those items (100 = free) = 100 %, Number of deals = 1. Result: Effective discount: 33.33%; Effective price per item: 20.00; You pay: 60.00.
Limits and caveats
- It assumes every item has the same price; some shops make the cheapest item the free one.
- The real saving is smaller if you did not need the extra items.
