Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter number of flips and draw number.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Each flip is independent with a 1/2 chance of heads. The expected number of heads in n flips is n / 2, and the actual count varies around it.

Example

Inputs: Number of flips = 1, Draw number = 1. Result: Result: Heads; Heads: 1; Tails: 0.

Limits and caveats

  • The coin is virtual and exactly fair, while a real coin can lean slightly depending on how it is tossed.
  • Earlier flips are not saved.

Questions about this tool

Are heads and tails equally likely?

Yes. Each flip uses a random value from the cryptographic generator, giving each side a 50% chance.

After 5 heads in a row, is tails more likely?

No. Flips are independent, so the next one is still 50% whatever came before.

Why are the heads not exactly half?

Half is only the expected average. The real count varies around it and gets closer in proportion as you flip more times.
