How it is calculated
Grams = volume in mL × 1.0651 g/mL. The density comes from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy, "Milk, canned, evaporated"): one US cup (236.59 mL) of evaporated milk weighs 252 g. 1 oz = 28.3495 g.
Example
Inputs: Amount = 1, Measure = US cup (236.6 mL), Density = 1.0651 g/mL. Result: Weight in grams: 252 g; Weight in ounces: 8.89 oz; Volume in millilitres: 236.6 mL.
Limits and caveats
- Results are for full-fat evaporated milk; the light version is close.
- The density can be edited.
