How to use it
- Enter text, find, replace with, match case, whole words only and use regular expression (regex).

How it is calculated
The text is scanned from start to end and every non-overlapping match is replaced. With whole words on, a match only counts when no letter, digit or underscore touches it on either side.

Limits and caveats
- Arabic letters attached to a word, such as و or ب, make it a different word when whole words is on.
- In regex mode, a pattern that matches empty text is rejected.
Questions about this tool
Can I use capture groups in the replacement?
Yes. In regex mode type $1 or $2 in the replacement to insert what the brackets captured. In normal mode the replacement is used literally.
How do I delete a word everywhere?
Leave the replacement box empty and every match is removed.
Does it treat similar Arabic letters as the same?
No. The search is exact, so ه and ة or ا and أ are different. Search for each spelling separately.
