How to use it
- Enter one-way distance, fuel consumption, price per liter, number of travelers and return trip.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Liters = distance × consumption ÷ 100. Cost = liters × price per liter. Share = cost ÷ travelers. Distance doubles for a return trip.
Example
Inputs: One-way distance = 600 km, Fuel consumption = 8 L/100 km, Price per liter = 2.33, Number of travelers = 4, Return trip = no. Result: Share per traveler: 27.96; Total fuel cost: 111.84; Fuel needed: 48 L.
Limits and caveats
- Real consumption changes with speed, load and air conditioning.
- Tolls and parking are not included.
Questions about this tool
Where do I find my car's consumption?
Check the owner's manual or trip computer, or divide liters filled by kilometers driven and multiply by 100.
Should the driver count as a traveler?
Yes if they share the cost. If the group agrees to cover the driver, leave them out of the count.
What currency is the result in?
The same currency you used for the price per liter.
