How it is calculated
Grams = volume in mL × 0.8665 g/mL. The density comes from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy, "Butter oil, anhydrous"): one US cup (236.59 mL) of ghee (anhydrous butter oil) weighs 205 g. 1 oz = 28.3495 g.
Example
Inputs: Amount = 1, Measure = US cup (236.6 mL), Density = 0.8665 g/mL. Result: Weight in grams: 205 g; Weight in ounces: 7.23 oz; Volume in millilitres: 236.6 mL.
Limits and caveats
- Measured melted or soft, filling the cup with no gaps.
- Vegetable ghee differs from butter ghee; edit the density if needed.
