How it is calculated
Word length = letters and digits in the word, excluding diacritics, tatweel, hyphens and apostrophes. Average = sum of lengths ÷ number of words. Ties go to the first word.

Result: Longest word: العربية; Its length: 7 letters; Shortest word: من.
Limits and caveats
- A hyphenated word such as well-known counts as one word.
- Attached Arabic prefixes, as in «وبالقلم», count toward the word length.
Questions about this tool
Do diacritics count toward length?
No. Diacritics and tatweel are removed and length counts letters only, so «القمرُ» has 5 letters.
What if two words tie for longest?
The word that appears first is shown, and the others are listed in the 10 longest words table.
Can a word appear twice in the table?
No. Each word is listed once even if it repeats in the text.
