How to use it

How it is calculated
Hourly wage = monthly wage ÷ (divisor days × hours per day). Basic hourly = basic ÷ (divisor days × hours per day). Overtime rate = hourly wage + (premium % × basic hourly). Overtime pay = rate × hours.
Example
Inputs: Full monthly wage = 6,000, Monthly basic salary = 4,000, Overtime hours = 10 h, Premium on basic = 50 %, Days per month divisor = 30 days. Result: Overtime pay: 333.33; Overtime hourly rate: 33.33; Normal hourly wage: 25.00.
Limits and caveats
- Dividing by 30 days and 8 hours is a common practice, not a rule in every contract.
- Check how your country defines the full wage; some laws exclude certain allowances.
Questions about this tool
How does Saudi labour law pay overtime?
Article 107 pays the hourly wage plus 50% of the basic wage for each extra hour, which is why the premium defaults to 50.
What do 10 overtime hours pay on 6,000 with 4,000 basic?
The hourly wage is 25 and basic hourly is 16.67, so each extra hour pays 33.33, about 333.33 in total.
Why enter both full wage and basic salary?
The hourly wage comes from the full wage, while the premium applies to basic only. If both are equal, overtime becomes time and a half.
