How to use it
- Enter water to add, hose flow rate and number of hoses.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Time in minutes = water volume (L) ÷ (flow rate (L/min) × number of hoses). Flow rate = bucket size ÷ time to fill it in minutes.
Example
Inputs: Water to add = 50,000 L, Hose flow rate = 20 L/min, Number of hoses = 1. Result: Fill time: 41.67 hours; In minutes: 2,500 min; Hours and minutes: 41 h 40 min.
Limits and caveats
- Assumes a steady flow; mains pressure can drop at peak hours.
- Ignores evaporation or leaks during filling.
Questions about this tool
How do I measure hose flow?
Fill a 10 liter bucket and time it in seconds, then divide 600 by the seconds to get liters per minute.
Do two hoses fill faster?
Yes when pressure allows. The calculator multiplies flow by the hose count, but real flow can drop if both share a weak supply.
Can I leave it filling overnight?
You can, but keep an eye on the level; water above the skimmer line stops the filter working well.
