Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter pool shape, length or diameter, width (ignored for round), shallow depth and deep depth.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Average depth = (shallow + deep) ÷ 2. Rectangle: length × width × average depth. Round: π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × average depth. Oval: π × (length ÷ 2) × (width ÷ 2) × average depth. 1 m³ = 1000 L; 1 US gallon = 3.785411784 L.
Example
Inputs: Pool shape = Rectangle, Length or diameter = 10 m, Width (ignored for round) = 5 m, Shallow depth = 1 m, Deep depth = 2 m. Result: Water volume: 75,000 L; In cubic meters: 75 m³; In US gallons: 19,813 US gal.
Limits and caveats
- Assumes the floor slopes evenly; pools with a sudden deep pit can differ a little.
- Measure depth to the actual water line, not to the pool edge.
Questions about this tool
How do I find the average depth?
Add the shallow-end and deep-end depths and divide by 2. If the depth is constant, enter the same figure in both boxes.
Why do I need the pool volume?
Every chemical dose, from chlorine to salt and pH adjusters, is based on water volume, so a wrong volume means over or under dosing.
How many liters are in a cubic meter?
One cubic meter is exactly 1000 liters.
