Questions about this tool
What raise is 8,000 to 8,600?
The difference is 600, and 600 ÷ 8,000 is 7.5%.
Does a 10% raise then a 10% cut cancel out?
No. 10,000 becomes 11,000 and then 9,900, because the cut is taken from the larger figure.
How do I know if a raise beats inflation?
If the raise percentage is lower than inflation for the same year, your buying power actually fell.
