Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter length, width, ceiling height and unit.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Volume = length × width × height. Wall area = 2 × (length + width) × height. 1 ft³ = 0.028316846592 m³ and 1 m³ = 1000 liters.
Example
Inputs: Length = 5, Width = 4, Ceiling height = 2.7, Unit = Meters. Result: Volume: 54 m³; Volume in cubic feet: 1,907 ft³; Volume in liters: 54,000 L.
Limits and caveats
- Assumes a box-shaped room with a flat ceiling.
- Wall area does not subtract doors and windows.
Questions about this tool
When do I need volume instead of area?
For devices that treat air, such as purifiers and humidifiers, whose specs refer to air volume or to area at a set height.
How many liters are in a cubic meter?
Exactly 1000, because a liter is one cubic decimeter.
What if the ceiling slopes?
Use the average of the lowest and highest heights. The result is then an approximation.
