Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter text or numbers and also convert decimal points and thousands commas between digits to arabic separators.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Each Western digit d from 0 to 9 is replaced by the Unicode character U+0660 + d, so 0 becomes U+0660 and 9 becomes U+0669. Letters, symbols and spaces stay as they are and the value does not change.
Example
Inputs: Also convert decimal points and thousands commas between digits to Arabic separators = no. Result: Converted text: الفاتورة رقم ٣٠٢١ بتاريخ ١٥/٠٩/٢٠٢٦; Digits converted: 12.
الفاتورة رقم 3021 بتاريخ 15/09/2026
الفاتورة رقم ٣٠٢١ بتاريخ ١٥/٠٩/٢٠٢٦
Limits and caveats
- The separator option only changes a point or comma that sits between two digits, so sentence punctuation is left alone.
- The Maghreb countries write Western digits, so their texts usually need no conversion.
Questions about this tool
Why are these digits called Hindi numerals in Arabic?
They came from India and were developed by Arab scholars, so many in the Mashriq call them Hindi numerals to tell them apart from the 0 to 9 set that reached Europe through North Africa and Andalusia.
Does converting change the number?
No. Each digit maps to a digit of the same value in the same position, so 2026 is still two thousand and twenty six.
What is the Arabic decimal separator?
It is U+066B, and the Arabic thousands separator is U+066C. Turn on the option to convert points and commas between digits to them.
