Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter text or numbers and also convert decimal points and thousands commas between digits to arabic separators.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Each Western digit d from 0 to 9 is replaced by the Unicode character U+06F0 + d, so 0 becomes U+06F0 and 9 becomes U+06F9. Letters, symbols and spaces stay as they are and the value does not change.
Example
Inputs: Also convert decimal points and thousands commas between digits to Arabic separators = no. Result: Converted text: Invoice ۴۵۶۷, total ۸۹۰.۵; Digits converted: 8.
Invoice 4567, total 890.5
Invoice ۴۵۶۷, total ۸۹۰.۵
Limits and caveats
- Urdu uses the same code points, but Nastaliq fonts draw 4, 6 and 7 a little differently. That depends on the font, not the characters.
Questions about this tool
How do Persian digits differ from Eastern Arabic digits?
Most look the same, but 4, 5 and 6 are drawn differently in Persian, and the set has its own code points, U+06F0 to U+06F9.
Can I use these digits for Urdu?
Yes. Urdu, Pashto and Dari use the same block, and only the look of a few digits changes with the font.
When should I pick Persian digits over Arabic ones?
When the text is Persian or Urdu, since search and sorting in that software expect these exact characters.
